Hi, I'm Melissa.
I'm a naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus on gut health and functional gastrointestinal disorders.
That's the medical term for gut conditions that often get dismissed. I'm on a mission to change that and the way we approach digestive health.

I know what it’s like to live with gut issues and feel like “this is just my normal” because the right support and information isn’t there. I’ve been there myself, so I get it.

My approach is all about giving you the knowledge, tools, and guidance you need while treating your health as a collaboration. Your experience, your goals, and your uniqueness matter and together, we create a plan that actually fits your life. No rigid rules, no complicated plans—just practical, personalized support so you can finally feel in control of your gut health.
My Story.
I always wanted to help people.
My journey to medicine started with my own gut struggles. As a teenager, intense pain and bloating could drop me to the ground, make me miss school, and leave me anxious around food because I never knew what would trigger the next episode. I went from a happy, high-achieving student and athlete to self-conscious and stressed, watching my grades and confidence slip.

After months of waiting and testing, I was diagnosed with IBS—and told there was nothing wrong. “Just manage your stress better,” was the only advice I was given. I felt dismissed, confused, and stuck with a gut I believed was just “sensitive for life.” I suffered for a while after that.

This experience led me to a Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Western Ontario, where I explored what it truly means to be healthy. I was drawn to lifestyle medicine—using nutrition and lifestyle to prevent illness and build long-term vitality. Along the way, I started connecting the dots between food, stress, sleep, and my gut. I felt better, but I still wanted consistency and predictability.

That drive brought me to Naturopathic Medicine. I earned my Doctor of Naturopathy at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. This is where I learned the tools I needed to finally feel in control of my gut—and the same mission now drives my work: helping women with sensitive guts regain control and confidence.

Today, I provide one-on-one naturopathic care virtually across Ontario and in person in Guelph and the Kitchener-Waterloo area. While my passion is digestive health, I also support women at all life stages (fertility, PCOS, PMS, perimenopause, menopause), and help with stress, insomnia, and chronic conditions like autoimmunity, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia

My unique approach to digestive health.
I focus on building resilience. This is how we strengthen your gut to give you relief now and the tools to feel better long-term.

My approach focuses on addressing three core pillars:

1. Microbiome Health: Supporting a balanced gut ecosystem which is largely created by adding more food instead of never-ending elimination diets.

2. Nervous System Regulation: Helping the body manage stress to improve gut-brain communication so digestion can function reliably in everyday life.

3. Endocrine Support: Optimizing the hormonal systems that influence digestion.

This approach isn’t a one-size-fits-all protocol. It’s an approach designed to empower you with knowledge, build sustainable habits, and restore confidence in your digestion—even when life gets busy.
What the process looks likes.
Making the decision to get support is a powerful first step.
Here's what the next steps could look like when we work together.
01
Start with a Discovery Call
This free 15-minute call gives us a chance to connect, learn more about your goals, and explore whether naturopathic care is the right fit for your needs. It’s a simple way to ask questions and understand how I can support you moving forward.
02
Comprehensive First Visit
Your first appointment includes a deep dive into your health history, current symptoms, and lifestyle patterns. We’ll also review any previous labs and identify areas that need further exploration.
You'll leave with a tailored care plan and a clear understanding of how we’ll move forward.

03
Personalized Treatment - Active & Rebuilding Phases
This is where we begin to move forward and put your plan into action.

Your plan will support digestion, the nervous system, the microbiome, and your hormonal health. We’ll make adjustments along the way based on how your body responds and what feels realistic for you.

04
On-Going Support & Maintenance
Once your digestion feels more steady and predictable, we move into a phase that many healthcare plans overlook: maintenance.
This phase is focused on maintaining the improvements you’ve made, building resilience, and preventing future setbacks.

Get in touch.
The right time is now. Stop letting your digestion interfere with your life.
I'd love to support you.
